In a world overrun by zombies Nathan and his wife Dexy maintain an open relationship in their marriage, where she regularly required to satisfy their sexual desires with other men. Oblivious to this, a Mexican hard struggle for survival without more resources than a hammer, a handful of nails and their fists. Soon the lives of these were crossed and also to cope with the horde of zombies have to deal with the promiscuity of Dexy and the strange and this particular sister.
directorial debut in a long Scott Phillips was this great " The stink of flesh , shot on video but with a much higher level of some works that are still premiering in theaters.
Although zombie movies are getting to the point of boredom important even for the more hardcore fans, the film takes us beyond that. Here the undead are merely secondary ( sometimes forget about them ) in an incredible story of unique characters ( heading for a predictable disaster ) strangely adapted to the inevitable situation they are exposed.
With tributes to intelligent unforgettable Night of the Living Dead (1968) ( the first attack of the zombies to the cabin ) and a soundtrack of the most successful country where the surf and Supersuckers punk to roam freely ( highlight the opening credits song, very Tarantino), this compelling story full of great moments we moved to Middle America infected with the classic and a bizarre zombie virus microcosm that is the home of Nathan and Dexy where sex, secrets and depravity mix with the most mundane daily tasks so disturbing and funny.
We face a very sort of comedy in the vein of the films of Frank Hennenlotter ( not only the obvious homage to brother Where are you hiding? (1982) embodied in Sassy and Dorothy ), ie, comedy, black humor thick with rounded with good moments of eroticism ( sometimes unhealthy) and well-crafted gore but not excessive, but very correct.
Technically speaking, without being no scholar, Phillips handled great with the camera, bringing the story lightly with a good show and some endearing characters that is impossible not familiar with them.
To give anything against ( me is that I'm so ...), the outcome is a little run down, it all happens very fast, but obviously it has to pass through ( childcare ... and the bastard kills silent ...).
There is nothing that does not allow any pro goremaníaco not enjoy this delightful independent film has many elements of pure entertainment cinéfago and not bored at any time. And that is saying something ... Right? -----------------------------
