Stealing Beauty
of my notebook during a concert by Aki Takase, "La Planète Quartet"
- Memories of the past. For decades it has robbed us the chance to hear this music. Europe, then, actually ended in the Pyrenees. Michel Portal, Willem Breuker, Von Schlippenbach ... we read their names in Jazz Magazine knowing that, perhaps, never listen.
- I hardly recognize Aki Takase Sigüenza after passing through a music-wild, barren-December. His music, which played at St. John the Evangelist on Saturday 5 of this month suggests a world-mechanical structures recognizable and unique beauty. For all ages.
- Louis Sclavis: one, a note ("Uma Nota Só). This, the "circular breathing" - have been doing for centuries oboítas inthe Mongolian Strep. Along with Sclavis, another old friend, Carlos Zingaro, from time Llorenç Barber organized the very memorable-and most remembered by those who were fortunate enough to attend the same-Festivals Sonora Free Expression at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Complutense B. Other times ...
- music by Aki Takase, "La Planète Quartet" is built around the rhythm (a fascinating rhythmic variety.) The result is simply stunning. The best concert of jazz "? - That one has seen in a long time. After something like Lionel Loueke's music sounds totally out of place. Absurd.
- tell me that they want to sell Johnny (see entry). They stole the music and we want to steal the soul. It is possible that the San Juan Evangelista is not the most beautiful building in the world but there are things that go beyond appearances. You just need to know-and want-see.
